On one hand, this quote it very true. I think that attitude is a HUGE part of how things in life affect one person differently than another. On the other hand, I think each person bears responsibility for their own actions and it is not wise to walk through life just letting things happen to you and reacting to them. Either way, Irving Berlin was a songwriter not a philosopher so I'll give him credit for saying something catchy and slightly thought provoking!
