Quote 32
"In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come back to us with a certain alienated majesty." --Ralph Waldo Emerson
I like this quote because sometimes, when I learn something new that we really hard to wrap my mind around, I have that feeling of "Of course, why didn't I think of this myself!" or that sense that if I had pursued one of my own thoughts further, maybe in a different lifetime I could have come up with something as grand or amazing. I also like the phrase "alienated majesty" just because it sounds cool!
