Quote 33
"Is not marriage an open question, when it is alleged, from the beginning of the world, that such as are in the institution wish to get out, and such as are out wish to get in?" --Ralph Waldo Emerson
Although I don't agree with the cynical view this quote has on marriage, I do like it for being witty and catchy. I read a whole book once of quotes in this style, where the first half is the opposite of the second half, but I forget the special name for that kind of a phrase. Anyway, that's the reason this quote gets to stay in the database. It also reminds me to be thankful that my own marriage doesn't make me feel like this!
