In the way of the internet, a moment of boredeom led to browsing a blog which led to something which led to something which ended up at the American Girl website. I had never visited there before, but was a great lover of the American Girl company as a child. My sister and I would pour over their catalog each time it came, carefully studying all the beautiful things and talking about which ones we liked. The Christmas when we finally each got an American Girl of our own still sticks out in my memory as one of the best gifts ever--something I wanted for a long time, waited for, and loved very much. There are tons more dolls, accessories, and options now but my Samantha is still there in all her Victorian beauty. If I remember right, my parents and grandparents paid $82 for our dolls so I was suprised to see the price hasn't gone up that much in 15 or 20 years!
