Potty Training, Day 1
7:15--Nathan wakes up, mom tries to figure out when and how to start
7:30--Nathan is still in diaper, mom realizes she has the wrong size pull-ups
7:45--Nathan askes about the promised potty prize, a train turntable
8:00--mom calls dad to find out where the potty prize basket went
8:15--mom decides the pull-ups will fit after all
8:30--mom calls dad to tell him not to come home to exchange the pull-ups
8:40--Nathan proudly chooses a pair of Thomas the Tank Engine underwear
8:41--diaper goes in the trash, underwear is at the ready
8:42--Nathan throws a fit when he finds out the diaper isn't going back on
8:43--Nathan throws another fit when he finds out he doesn't get the turntable yet
8:44--Nathan opts for pants and no underwear
8:50--1st pair of pants in the laundry
8:51--Nathan perches on the carefully chosen potty seat
9:00--2nd pair of pants in the laundry
9:01--Nathan perches on the potty seat again
9:10--3rd pair of pants in the laundry (sensing a pattern?!!)
9:11--guess where we are...!
9:12--no pants, no underwear...
9:20--Success! A proud boy claims his turntable
9:30--more success--a red train engine this time
9:35--a little more
9:40--and a little more (skip the potty seat, go for the real thing)
9:45--and still a little more...
10:00--playing with the trains
10:15--wet train track--rain?!!
10:16--a little more success
10:25--a little more
10:45--yet a little more, time for a green train car
11:00--still more (what is this kid drinking?!!)
11:25--a little more, an orange train car joins the pack
11:45--lunchtime
11:47--false alarm
11:50--lunchtime
11:55--false alarm
12:00--lunchtime
12:05--false alarm
12:10--lunchtime
12:15--false alarm (and on, and on, and on...)
1:00--naptime and the sweet comfort of a pull up
3:30--awake, but no success
4:00--no accidents, but no success
4:30--no accidents, no success--what happened to the bountiful showers of the morning?
4:35--wet pull up comes off, nothing goes back on
5:00--try again
5:30--try again
6:00--try again
7:00--out shopping, who knows what's happening in that pull up
8:00--try again
8:15--brown pull-up
8:17--bedtime, try again tomorrow
Day one has passed, and I promise never to detail the process for you again!!
