Arrival

Everyone was glad to finally make it to Bonzo and Pappy's house. We had a nice dinner on the patio and settled in. We worked a jigsaw puzzle while watching the presidential debate in the evening.

Saturday was for gardening, unpacking, playing, shopping, and working. In the afternoon we went to nearby Faust Park to ride the carousel and play with sweet Katherine, my cousin Matthew, Uncle Andy, and Aunt Pam. We saw 5 different wedding parties while we were there! Baths were in line for the evening, then off to bed (tricky for the kids, but they fell asleep eventually!)

Sunday was church (fun to be back at an old church "home" for me), lunch, and back to Faust Park where we visited the Butterfly House and took another carousel ride. Nathan was a little nervous about all those fluttering insects, but Katya loved them and Than had lots of fun chasing them around for photos.

Monday's rain cancelled our planned trip to the gardens, so we met my cousin Melissa at the Science Museum instead. Nathan had a great time exploring all the hands on stuff, and even survived the intensity of the Omnimax show (granted, it was about the Great Lakes, but
apparently that is still intimidating to his three year old self!) We lunched at a neat restaurant in Melissa's neighborhood, then headed home for some much needed naps. Mom and Dad needed them too, since Katya has decided to not sleep at night much here in Missouri! She gets up at least once or twice to eat, and then is ready for the day by about 5 a.m. Daddy kindly takes her for an early morning walk so the rest of us can get a little more sleep! Crazy girl!
More on our ongoing adventures in a day or two!
